Virtual Ring Light for iPhone and iPad
Open the ring light in Safari, switch off the settings that dim or tint the screen, and use it as a soft front light for calls, selfies and video.
How it works on iOS
The ring light is a web page, so there is nothing to download. Safari on iPhone does not allow true fullscreen for ordinary web pages, so the tool switches to a full-window mode instead. You may still see the browser bars; adding the page to your Home Screen hides most of them.
iPhone and iPad setup
- Open the virtual ring light in Safari.
- Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open it from there for a cleaner view.
- Open Control Center and set brightness to maximum. Turn off True Tone in Settings → Display & Brightness, and turn off Auto-Brightness in Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size.
- Set Auto-Lock to a longer time or Never while you use it, then switch it back.
- Turn on a Focus or Do Not Disturb so notifications do not cover the light.
Use cases
- iPad as a second-screen light behind a laptop or desktop.
- iPhone as a close selfie light for a second device’s camera.
- Older iPads as dedicated desk lights for streams and calls.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I get real fullscreen on iPhone?
Safari limits the Fullscreen API on iPhone. The tool uses a full-window mode so the light still fills the screen.
Will True Tone matter?
Yes. True Tone adjusts color to the room and can make the ring look warmer or cooler than your chosen setting. Turn it off for predictable color.
